No Instant Gratification Results in Stop Start Marketing

We are so like children in our behaviour. We want everything now and we whinge we do not get what we want. And it’s always someone else’s fault why your business is not working the way it should.

I’m always reminded of the parable from Luke 8:5 where the farmer goes out to sow some seeds in his field as follows:

“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”

Marketing Activity is the seed for your business. Very few business owners sow enough seed every day, when we do sow it and it does not work the way we wanted to – we quit or we start to whinge or moan. When we get poor results we question our decisions and look for a reason to stop.

The good business person is like a farmer, he knows that he has to persevere with the sowing because he know that if he does not do this, he will have nothing to harvest. Its as simple as night and day?
